A marking and assessment boycott has affected 145 universities, meaning that some students will leave university this summer without degree classifications, or with work ungraded. Students at the University of Edinburgh, for example, say they will be given an โempty piece of paperโ when they graduate.

British universities have seen the number of EU students enrolling halve since Brexit, with the decline attributed primarily to changes in fee status.
Before Brexit, EU students paid fees ranging from nothing in Scotland to ยฃ9,250 a year in England. Fees have risen as high as ยฃ38,000 after Brexit.
