Let Yourself Be The Milky Way

โ€œYou keep worrying
youโ€™re taking up too much space.
I wish youโ€™d let yourself
be the Milky Way.โ€
โ€“ Andrea Gibson

A Universal โ€œData-baseโ€ of Positive Intentions

โ€œAround the world, people create amazing experiences and opportunities. When they do, energetically, it becomes available to everyone. Think of it as a universal database of Creative Consciousness. One that we are all uploading our divine talents to. Therefore, we make them vibrationally accessible to kindred spirits across the globe.โ€
What is Creative Consciousness?

How can you trust people so much?

โ€œIโ€™m often asked: How can you trust people so much?
Because thatโ€™s the only way it works.โ€

A Brief History & Ethos of the Digital Garden

A garden is a collection of evolving ideas that arenโ€™t strictly organised by their publication date. Theyโ€™re inherently exploratory โ€“ notes are linked through contextual associations. They arenโ€™t refined or complete โ€“ notes are published as half-finished thoughts that will grow and evolve over time. Theyโ€™re less rigid, less performative, and less perfect than the personal websites weโ€™re used to seeing.

Not Judgmental

โ€œBe curious, not judgmental.โ€
โ€“ Walt Whitman

Digital Gardens

โ€œโ€ฆas I wander the internet, I wonder where the digital gardens are that will connect me to fellow gardeners more deeply. More often than not, the digital gardens of today are botanicโ€”privately owned online spaces made for visitors to fawn over while a โ€œdo not touchโ€ sign looms in view. These private gardens are generative for our personal learning, but they are far from the communal gardens I grew up in that valued collective work and knowledge. Where are the digital gardens that lead us towards collective learning, play, and dreaming?โ€

Magic Happens Through Relationships

โ€œMagic happens through relationships and through faith. How do you build the trust so that people believe that magic is possible? You hae to let people cultivate solidarity and love for each other, individually; almost anything can happen in a room where people have that level of connection with at least a few others in that space. Thatโ€™s all you need.
โ€“ Adrienne Maree Brown

The Ultimate Touchstone of Friendship

โ€œThe ultimate touchstone of friendship is not improvement, neither of the other nor of the self, the ultimate touchstone is witness, the privilege of having been seen by someone and the equal privilege of being granted the sight of the essence of another, to have walked with them and to have believed in them, and sometimes just to have accompanied them for however brief a span, on a journey impossible to accomplish alone.โ€
โ€“ David Whyte

Practice Any Art

โ€œPractice any art, music, singing, dancing, acting, drawing, painting, sculpting, poetry, fiction, essays, reportage, no matter how well or badly, not to get money and fame, but to experience becoming, to find out whatโ€™s inside you, to make your soul grow.โ€
โ€“ Kurt Vonnegut

Improve The Silence

โ€œDonโ€™t talk unless you can improve the silence.โ€
โ€“ Jorge Luis Borges

Measure Time

โ€œBeing with you and not being with you is the only way I have to measure time.โ€
โ€“ Jorge Luis Borges

Hopping Through Life on One Leg

โ€œIt doesnโ€™t matter how sensitive you are or how damn smart and educated you are, if youโ€™re not both at the same time, if your heart and your brain arenโ€™t connected, arenโ€™t working together harmoniously, well, youโ€™re just hopping through life on one leg. You may think youโ€™re walking, you may think youโ€™re running a damn marathon, but youโ€™re only on a hop trip. The connections gotta be maintained.โ€
โ€“ Tom Robbins

A Smooth Hinge

โ€œThere is a door between the logical and intuitive worlds, and we must put a smooth hinge on it, and let it swingโ€ฆโ€
โ€“ Lorna Crozier

Tenderness Towards Yourself

โ€œDeveloping tenderness towards yourself allows you to see both your problems and your potential accurately. You donโ€™t feel that you have to ignore your problems or exaggerate your potential.โ€
โ€“ Chรถgyam Trungpa

Become The Ocean

โ€œIf you donโ€™t become the ocean, youโ€™ll be seasick every day.โ€
โ€“ Leonard Cohen

Addicted

โ€œI was never addicted to one thing, I was addicted to filling a void within myself with things other than my own love.โ€
โ€“ Yung Pueblo

Kindness Scales

โ€œIt scales better than competitiveness, frustration, pettiness, regret, revenge, merit (whatever that means) or apathy. Kindness ratchets up. It leads to more kindness. It can create trust and openness and truth and enthusiasm and patience and possibility.

Kindness, in one word, is a business model, an approach to strangers and a platform for growth. It might take more effort than you were hoping it would, but itโ€™s worth it.โ€

โ€“ Seth Godin

Resurfacing this quote I posted in 2017. Itโ€™s so good.

Disembodied Communication

โ€œThe body is everywhere assaulted by all of our new media, a state which has resulted in deep disorientation of intellect and destabilization of culture throughout the world. In the age of disembodied communication, the meaning and significance and experience of the body is utterly transformed and distorted.โ€
Have I mentioned that Iโ€™ve been trying to figure out the Internet?โ€

Not Knowing What To Do

โ€œEventually we realize that not knowing what to do is just as real and just as useful as knowing what to do. Not knowing stops us from taking false directions. Not knowing what to do, we start to pay real attention.โ€
โ€“ David Whyte
