Man dies after diving 40 feet into 4 foot-deep water

A 34-year-old man died of his injuries after diving from an embankment into the shallow end of Lake Gladewater in Texas. The embankment was 40 feet (12m) up, but the water was only 4 foot (1.2m) deep. Kidnapped woman "found dead" after police shootout with captor

A woman kidnapped in New York was "found dead" after a shootout between her captor and police. The use of passive voice and exonerative language in the report makes it sound an awful lot like the cops think they killed her, and NBC News doesn't let hardly a paragraph pass without appending something like, "according to police." โ€” Read the rest

Most imagined a late-night Elon Musk "decision" which allowed for no forethought, finesse or planning; some imagined a hasty effort to cover for a breakage that the company no longer has the on-staff expertise to repair. โ€” Read the rest

Marvel's Avengers game to shut down support after a rough two years

It would be fair to say that Square Enix has had its fair share of missteps lately, and among them is the disastrous Marvel's Avengers โ€”a licensed live-service game that feels like the worst parts of any given Marvel movie with the serial numbers filed off. โ€” Read the rest
