In celebration of Pride, Artsy happily presents the Artsy Impact Auction: Artists for Pride, benefiting the Ali Forney Center. New works by a diverse group of emerging and established artists will be bid on through June 29th at 12 pm EST. TM Davy, Didier William, Jo Messer, Kyle Meyer, Kate Pincus-Whitney, Erin M. Riley, Emma Kohlmann, Caitlin Cherry, Elizabeth Glaessner, Jordan Nassar, Haas Brothers, Vickie Vainionpää, Leilah Babirye, Darryl Westly, and Nedia Were have come together in allyship to support the cause by way of sharing their talents.
Ali Forney Center’s mission is to protect LGBTQIA+ youth from homelessness and to empower them with the tools needed to live independently. Through this partnership, the auction will directly support the critical care, direction, education, and career services that Ali Forney Center offers to these at-risk homeless youth.
We had the opportunity to speak with Simon Haas of the Haas Brothers, who have their Fairies Witherspoon piece featured in Artists for Pride (seen in the lead image). “This piece is from a body of work we call Fairy Berries. Each of these pieces is a little like a Faberge Egg, small and ornate,” said Simon. “These pieces are little meditations – they take a really, really long time and a steady hand, and the resulting piece is an opulent little world of its own.”
“A lot of the work we make is playful, but an equal amount of it is intensely process-based. When I am doing beadwork or making process-intensive projects like this I am very much in a meditative state of mind,” Simon shared. “This kind of work is almost necessary for me and my mental health.
Measuring 10 1/4 × 4 1/2 × 4 1/2-inches, Fairies Witherspoon is hand thrown and slip trailed porcelain detailed with gold lustre and brass plate. The underside is stamped with “HAAS BROTHERS 2020”, and it’s accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity signed by Nikolai and Simon Haas.
“Being gay myself, and having experienced first hand the challenges that come with that, it is really meaningful to me to be able to support my community. I can’t imagine the added difficulty of facing homelessness caused by or made more difficult by being LGBTQIA+. This is a truly important cause, particularly in this time of increasing intolerance.” Simon went on to add that he plans to “continue being a vocally out gay man and advocating for others in my community. It is so important that we make ourselves heard and support each other in our fight for equality. The LGBTQIA+ community is not a monolith, we are a collection of communities, but by coming together and advocating for each other we can accomplish so much more than we could on our own.”

Today may possibly be the happiest (and cutest) national day in the world – it’s National Puppy Day! Being a new pet parent can be overwhelming, I’ve been there… So if you’re welcoming home a new puppy, or just looking to spoil your current one, here are 7 essential items to cover all your bases. After all, their happiness is your happiness! Plus, they’re all tested and approved by #dogintern, Koda, and trust me, she’s a picky one.
Did you know that puppies sleep for about 18 hours a day? All that rest is when their brain, body, and immune system are doing the most developing, so it’s no surprise that a comfy bed is the #1 thing they’ll be needing. Unlike most foam beds that trap heat, Koda especially loves Newton Baby’s Pet Bed, which features the same Wovenaire technology as their award-winning mattress. Koda’s an Aussie-mix with two fur coats, so she really appreciates a bed that keeps her comfy without getting her too warm! It’s designed to be 100% breathable, washable, and better sleep for your pup. (Extra emphasis on ‘washable’ because we all know accidents are prone to happen with new puppies.) For puppies that paw – not to worry because the bed cover is also scratch-resistant!
Timeless, simple, and made of food-grade stainless steel that’s dishwasher safe, Wild One’s bowls are perfect for mealtimes. The nonslip silicone base keeps the bowls from moving around, but if you want to go one step further, they also have matching silicone placemats to catch any spillage! With a messy drinker like Koda, the placemat is a lifesaver. It keeps my floors clean and dry, and it’s so easy to wipe down. Available in 2 sizes, with the option of neutrals (Black or Tan) or a pop of color (Lilac or their seasonal addition, Spruce)!
With all that puppy energy, long walks are a great way to tire them out. Maxbone’s GO! With Ease Hands Free Leash is perfect for us hoomans because 1) the leash distance is adjustable and 2) it can be worn around the waist or shoulder, making it one less thing to worry about while you’re training your puppy to heel. It can still be used as a regular leash if you don’t want to go hands-free, but I love the fact that it’s versatile to however YOU want to use it! Pair it with the matching Signature Collar + the GO! With Ease Pouch, and you two will be the most stylish duo on the block. Call me extra, but the Pouch is such an easy way to elevate your walking game since it can be attached to the leash. (Step aside, Lululemon Fanny Pack!) Load it up with your phone, credit cards, keys, and poop bags, and you’re good to go!
It’s hard to avoid your puppy tracking in dirt and germs from outside, but at least Dandylion makes it easy to clean! Their Clean Paws No-Rinse Foaming Cleanser has become my second best friend as it instantly washes Koda’s paws without the need to rinse. The foamy formulation and soft silicone bristles allow for a gentle deep cleanse with plant-based ingredients that soothe, nourish, and provide anti-microbial benefits! Just simply remove the cap, pump out some foam, and gently massage into those hard-to-reach areas. Wipe dry and your puppy’s ready to roam free again. I love that they have a refill bottle so that when you’re through with the bottle, you can reuse your pump to stay eco-friendly!
A daily routine extended to your puppy – personalized supplements for dogs have become a thing. Vet-formulated and pet-approved, Dandy has supplements that you can customize from scratch or simply choose pre-made packs to eliminate any guesswork. They also have a short quiz you can take, which gives you a vet recommendation based on your pup’s unique needs! For me, it’s been an uphill battle with Koda’s allergies, so I appreciate that their vet-formulated packs are a quick and easy no-brainer for me. They’re even available at some retailers so we never have to worry about going a day without them. Depending on your pup, choose from Allergy, Anxiety, or Wellness Care to target their concerns. (They also have Joint Care for anyone with older dogs!)
As mentioned before, this short puppy period is full of development. Physical fun and exercise help their little bodies develop, while mental challenges help grow their brains. Fable’s Enrichment Set includes The Game and 2 Falcon Toys, which allow for interactive or independent play. Their Twin Falcon Toy is also a great option if you’re looking for a two-in-one. Enrichment isn’t just limited to mealtime; the open cavities on the Falcons can be stuffed with spreads like peanut butter, but don’t worry about the mess – the toys are top rack dishwasher safe! (Just try to skip the heated dry cycle.) Koda’s a huge lover of peanut butter and non-fat Greek yogurt, so she always knows what time it is when I bring out her Twin Falcon!
Durable, non-toxic, and easy to clean, Fable’s Signature Balls are an upgrade from your typical tennis ball. They aren’t just for a good chase, they’re also great for mental stimulation! The two openings minimize choking risk, but you can also fill it up with spreads to keep your pup busy. Hand wash with soap and water, and they’re good as new.
It’s also nice to mention that Winnie Lou gives back to the dog community by donating some of their proceeds to local rescues each quarter. Koda herself was a rescue, so brownie points there!
Maivy Tran is a California native and if she’s not brainstorming narratives or curating content, she’s probably at the dog park with her pup Koda. See the BTS of her life over on Instagram.

Why AirBnb when you can bring your own comfortably personalized accommodations nearly anywhere and everywhere you go? That’s the premise behind the Bowlus Volterra, the world’s first all-electric RV, a luxuriously appointed 25-foot-long aerodynamic silver bullet designed for travelers seeking adventure sans the “roughing it” part of the equation.
The Volterra stores up to 50-gallons of water to keep occupants hydrated, while capable of extending the range of an EV tow vehicle up to 65 miles.
You may remember the Bowlus Terra Firma Limited Edition, a similarly styled luxury liner on two wheels outfitted with a laundry list of contemporary technologies and accoutrements delivering glamping galore. The new Bowlus Volterra is basically the same deal as the Terra Firma, but with twice the mobile electric power and few additional updates.
The heart of the new Volterra’s power is its Volterra Battery Management System, a lithium battery management system powered by the brand’s AeroSolar Solar System, resulting in a 17 kWh of all-electric power capacity (for comparison, a Tesla Powerwall offers 13.5kW of storage capacity).
And it needs every bit of this extended electric and solar power, with the interior cabin outfitted with creature comforts such as in-floor heating, air conditioning and heating, continuous hot water for showering, hot drinking water on-demand, LED lighting, wi-fi networking, and the option to add high-speed satellite connectivity anywhere the RV dares to venture.
Because navigating a 25-foot trailer isn’t always easy, especially at night, Bowlus thoughtfully includes a full-color night vision camera.
This being the brand’s most luxurious and expensive model (the Volterra starts at $310,000), the RV is offered with a limited-edition La Cumbre earthen color palette inspired by the mountain peak behind Santa Barbara, California. The limited-edition interior seating – fully vegan – supposedly draws inspiration from the California sunset, with complementary hues in the bedding area executed in 100% linen duvets.
If this isn’t all luxurious enough, Bowlus also offers a Bespoke Customization Program to allow buyers to tinker and tailor the silver bullet RV trailer to their exact specifications (*Rivian not included.)
It’s a common circumstance in which many of us have found ourselves from time to time. It’s that annoying moment when our phone pings us that it’s on 10% battery or our laptop screen went black because we kept ignoring the alerts – only for us to look around and discover that there are no sockets available nearby. It’s in this moment that the Avro Pendant Lamp really shines. Designed by Studio Natural for Martinelli Luce, the luminaire has a hidden feature: the lower part of its shade conceals a socket, allowing you to power your devices right at the table.
Available in four different colors (orange, light blue, white, and black), the Avro turns any dining table into a workspace. No longer would you need to find a vacant outlet or ensure your cords are long enough to reach the wall. By plugging in a multi-socket, you can power up a whole team’s worth of devices.

This is the future, a juxtaposition of virtual and reality. Art Blocks, TRAME, and Crypto Packaged Goods (CPG) have partnered with French artist Alexis André to create Navette, a series of 200 on-chain generative artworks (NFTs) and accompanying loom-woven tapestries. The first-of-its-kind generative art project unites 3D printing and textile craftsmanship to create uniquely coded digital outputs with complimentary physical artworks.
On March 2, 2023, Navette will be released via auction through Art Blocks Engine’s blockchain technology alongside a collector buying experience created by CPG. The generative code will be fed into Néolice’s digital loom, which will output eight, one-of-a-kind, large-scale physical tapestries that will then be claimable by owners of the original digital artworks. A redeemable token will be airdropped to the first six minters to claim their tapestry, with two others randomly distributed to collectors of the remaining 194 artworks.
Navette is the first collaboration between Art Blocks, TRAME, and CPG in an ongoing series titled “Craft Nouveau” that pushes the boundaries of generative art and traditional textiles. The series will bring together artists, creative code, and crafted collectibles, marking the possibilities that lie at the intersection of classical and futuristic.

Two of the biggest Nordic brands have united to bring us the BASTUA collection, launching globally in March 2023. The limited-edition series of 26 products, created by home furnishings giant IKEA and iconic printmaker Marimekko, brings together Nordic design and self-care rituals. From furniture to glassware to textiles, vibrant patterns reflect nature back at you.
“Collaborating with Marimekko was a natural choice for IKEA as we are both committed to enabling a better everyday life at home, and with the BASTUA collection, it begins with focusing on wellness first,” says Henrik Most, Creative Leader at IKEA. “The collaboration encapsulates the sensations of endless summers and the simple and aesthetic beauty of Nordic nature in furniture and accessories for the home.”
“BASTUA” describes a sauna in Småland, the region in southern Sweden where IKEA was founded. Self-care and Nordic sauna were the starting points of the collection that’s meant to be used when relaxing outdoors in warm weather or simply winding down at the end of a long day.
The launch of BASTUA marks the first time that Marimekko has designed prints exclusively for a brand collaboration. “Capturing the essence of Marimekko’s Finnish roots and its connection to the historic origins of sauna culture was a fundamental part of the design journey and the creation of the BASTUA prints,” says Rebekka Bay, Creative Director at Marimekko. When gathering inspiration from nature, the brand gravitated towards the large, decorative rhubarb leaves that are often found growing near saunas in Finland. You’ll find it throughout the collection, including on the ever-popular FRAKTA bag.
Within the BASTUA collection lies furniture, glassware, and textiles that include robes and towels – and even the first-ever sauna bucket – among other items. These are all things one might traditionally use when enjoying a sauna, or right before or after the ritual. You’ll find elements that can be used during a meal, a place to sit and feel grounded, and even a candle infused with the scents of elderflower, rhubarb, and sweet vanilla.
BASTUA’s furniture pieces are inspired by classic Nordic design. A side table offers a clever feature: the collection’s patterned trays fit perfectly on the top. You may even want to pull up the coordinating bench to enjoy a relaxing moment of Zen.
“Nordic furniture design has always been characterized by clean lines and simple constructions that focus on function” says Mikael Axelsson, Designer at IKEA. “The BASTUA side table is my take on this heritage, as it is made of birch veneer and with a high edge that keeps things in place.”
The BASTUA collection feels like a perfect partnership, neither pattern nor design overshadows the other. It’s a wonderful marriage between two brands that complement one another in harmony.

Over the course of a year, designer Luca Nichetto renovated a 1940s pink villa to become his new studio in Stockholm, Sweden. No signs are on display – it looks like a regular house to the average passerby – but the locals now know of it as the Pink Villa. While its pink exterior definitely piques curiosity, it’s the interior that really draws you in.
The renovation and refurbishment of the home began in 2021, along with the interior design, which was done in house. From the sofas to the chairs to the lighting to the plant holders, most of the furnishings throughout were designed by Luca himself.
In the living room, the royal blue Arflex Banah sofa pops with two additional chairs and a bold yellow Float table from La Chance.
Downstairs, pale pink walls set the tone and give nod to the home’s exterior.
A meeting room resides on the ground floor with black Robo Chairs from Offecct. Colorful pieces of glass are displayed throughout adding more color and visual interest.
Upstairs there is Luca’s personal office and additional workspaces for the rest of Nichetto’s team, along with more of his designs, including the Mjölk Réunion lamp (above) and the blue/gray Nico armchair from Bernhardt Design (below).
On weekdays, the Pink Villa is used as Nichetto Studio’s offices and then on weekends the family uses it as a vacation home in the country. An old garage has transformed into a guest room, named the Chalet, with its own living room, bedroom, and bathroom complete with a Swedish sauna.
The new studio is just a seven minute walk to the water and a green area, Branterna, is just a minute away, making it a peaceful place to work or visit.

Perhaps no other object “gets the boot” quite as much (and quite as literally) as the everyday door stopper. This simple object with just one function isn’t usually given much thought, but a friendly rivalry amongst the co-founders of Massproductions, design manager and founder Chris Martin and his co-founder Magnus Elebäck, led to a new design, one with an improved functionality but with an added sculptural look. With its gradual height-increasing slope, the Universal Door Wedge is designed to fit most, if not all, doors.
When sharing more of the impetus that led to this project, Martin says, “Magnus knew I was looking for a new project and put a quick sketch on a door wedge on my desk. It was a nice beautiful, sculpted wooden door wedge. This made me appalled. I’m the designer, so why is he provoking me by designing this? I simply had to do something better. In this furious state, I used the negative energy to create my own door wedge. And I beat his on all levels, quite convincingly. Mine is better, more refined, more functional, more interesting, and even more beautiful.”
Part of Massproduction’s new collection “The Little Things,” the Universal Door Wedge is made of SBR rubber and can be cast in a single piece. The 90 degree angles give the object a strict geometric design while the handle allows the user to easily pick up the wedge at a comfortable height rather than crouching all the way down to the floor.
